Technology and Innovation Support Centers (TISCs) are an international initiative launched by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in 2009 to foster the innovation capacity of countries and regions by providing information and methodological support to TISC users engaged in scientific, scientific-technical, and innovation activities. According to WIPO data, as of 2026, more than 1,832 TISCs have been established in 93 countries worldwide.

In 2021, the first two TISCs in Kazakhstan were established at two universities: Buketov Karaganda University and the Kazakhstan-British Technical University (KBTU).
In 2022, the national TISC network was expanded with the addition of 16 new centers.
In 2023, another 13 centers joined the TISC program and cooperation framework.
To date, the national TISC network in Kazakhstan has grown to 41 centers.
