On April 15, 2026, the National Institute of Intellectual Property (Kazpatent) held an online seminar entitled “Intellectual Property: Amendments and Additions to the Legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan” for the faculty members and staff of Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University (hereinafter – the University).
The event was aimed at strengthening the University’s scientific and innovation capacity, enhancing knowledge and competencies in the field of intellectual property management, and reinforcing cooperation between Kazpatent’s Technology and Innovation Support Center (TISC) and the University.
The opening remarks were delivered by Maynura Abiltayevna Buribayeva, Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations. She emphasized the important role of patent activities in strengthening the University’s scientific and innovation potential.
Representatives of Kazpatent delivered presentations on the topic “Intellectual Property: Amendments and Additions to the Legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan,” including the amendments to the Patent Law and the Law on Trademarks, Service Marks, Geographical Indications, and Appellations of Origin that entered into force on January 25, 2026. They also presented reports on “Copyright” and “The Use of Industrial Property Objects and the Main Forms of Rights Transfer.”
During the seminar, the University’s staff actively participated in the discussions and received comprehensive answers to their questions. The University expressed its intention to continue cooperation with Kazpatent within the framework of the Technology and Innovation Support Center (TISC) project.
